I don't see a whole lot of trout-related or fly fishing related exhibitors, but maybe I'm wrong. Is anybody who frequents these pages planning to attend? It's 2/22-24 at Alliant Energy Center Expo Hall, Madison WI.

I went to that my first year living in Madison...I don't need to go now but it was good to go and I got some good WI trout books.

Those kinds of things like Canoecopia etc. are fun to get into that Spring/summer fever.

I'm definitely ready for it.

I might go if it was free. Not sure what I’d get out of it at this point.

Was there good swag?

Can I catch a trout in the kids pool?

Reminds me when I asked the guy at the hatchery here if I could grab my rod and fish the trophy pool or whatever it’s called.

I really believe he thought I was serious.

Many years ago I (when I lived in Madison) I used to go to what has become the Wisconsin Fishing Expo. At that time, it was primarily boats, boat fishing for bass, walleye and musky, and a bunch of guide and lodge vendors. From what I've heard/read, the exhibitors are now a bit more comprehensive. May even be some dedicated Trout fishing stuff. I see Jordan Weeks is on the seminar list. Won't find a better expert on Driftless Area trout fishing. TU will be there also.

Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo in St Paul is the one I've been want to go to for years, but it's just too far to drive and the date has never worked out on my calendar. I know some of the MN DTA guys usually attend. Judging by the exhibitors list, it doesn't appear to be strictly fly fishing. Supposed to be one of the better shows in the midwest. The presenters list is a who's who of rock star fishing experts and guides.

Wish they had something like that closer to Milwaukee.

Bill, they'll have the Journal-Sentinel Sports Show in Milwaukee (well, West Allis) March 6th to the 10th. Not fishing only but lots of fishing stuff there.

Pffft.

Snubbed again.

Maybe I'll check out the Madison one Friday afternoon. I drive by there every day on my way to and from work.

I can get lost in tackle stores, so this could be fun... and expensive.

I'd go just to talk to Ger Moua. That guy knows his way around a Trout stream.

I've never met him, but some people I know that really know their stuff have told me he's a machine. Hopefully will get a chance to meet him while I'm there.
