I assume there are plenty of other folks that have, over the years, bought some rods an other gear that they didn't fall in love with, but nobody seems interested in buying. Has anybody ever talked about setting up or arranging some kind gear loan/sharing concept? For example, I have 3 rods that just haven't worked out for the family. They're low end and won't bring much of a return by selling. If anyone else is in a similar position, you might have something I'd like to try. Just throwing these out there: Sage Approach, 3 wt, 7' St Croix Imperial, 3 wt, 7' Echo Base, 4 wt, 8' I also have a Redington Butter Stick (fiberglass), 4 wt, 7'6" - I'm not really looking to sell it yet, but I'd love to do a short term swap with someone who has an Echo Glass in 4 or 5 wt or maybe a TFO Finesse. And then there are rods that I'd just love to try. One of the coolest things I've found about fishing with other people is the chance to say, "Hey, can I try casting that a few times?" (Never ask a stranger if you can try their rod. Too much potential for misunderstanding and felony charges.) Let's see if I can organize this a little: Rods I'm not using:- Sage Approach, 3 wt, 7'
- St Croix Imperial, 3 wt, 7'
- Echo Base, 4 wt, 8'
Rods I might Sell/Swap:- Redington Butter Stick, 4 wt, 7'6"
Rods I'd like to try:- Echo Glass 4 or 5 wt
- Sage Mod
- TFO Finesse 4 or 5 wt
- St Croix Imperial or Legend Elite
Rods I fish:- Sage Z-Axis, 5 wt, 9'
- Swift Epic 6 wt, 8'6"
- Echo Gecko (hey, it's small and kinda fun!)
So, other than having people post from time to time on a thread/topic, any other thoughts about how to coordinate this? |
