I haven't been on the board much (10 month old son keeping us busy!) but had to share these pictures from today. My office mate and I went out for some bass/walleye fishing today in a canoe. He ties into this monster. The fight was long as we were using medium action spinning rods and crankbaits (no leader). Trying to net this beast was painful, I had it in the net 5 or 6 times only to have it head shake its way out (not much more than the head would fit in). Finally got in the boat and we paddled for shore to get on firm ground to unhook and take some pics. It was his first musky and I think he's still shaky from this! We did not, I didn't have a tape measure. Also I was interested in getting back into water asap as we had a long fight and then a short paddle to get over to shore to sort everything out. I don't really know how long it was out of the water but he swam away after a couple of tail shakes. Luckily for me it bite through both trebles after we got it in the boat. The lure fell right out of it's mouth. I only had a pair of small forceps with me and was dreading sticking my hand in there... |

They call them toothy critters for a reason. Nice job. They aren't easy to land ever, much less on light gear.
