my buddy's grandpa caught this beast. a brooder, but still an awesome fish. all the other state records listed in the article were caught in lakes, not small streams. too bad my buddy doesn't continue his grandpa's trout fishing tradition. he's a competative bass fisherman Razz

That record won't be broken. IMO, Iowa doesn't have a stream that would support something bigger than that in it and the DNR isn't keeping it's broods that long now. I've caught 6 broods over 10 lbs (12.4 was the largest), but nothing bigger than probably 8 since 04. Of course i avoid the more popular streams like the plague now, so that probably doesn't help! hahaha!
