Welcome from another Chicago Fly fisher. I live north of you in Lincolnshire. I primarily fish the Driftless, but have booked a guided SMB trip on the Kankakee, so I'm looking forward to that.

Hi Paul, love your moniker! I'll be fishing my first time on the K3 at the end of March with a guide that spoke at my TU meeting recently, looking forward to it. And, I'm running up to the Driftless Thursday morning for a couple days fly fishing, can't wait.

A guide with whom I spoke said that ideal stream flows on the K3 are 3500 CFM; it's running 10X that now. The river outside my back door, the Des Plaines, is running high, but not that high.

I've got a trip planned on the K3, my first SMB trip ever, scheduled for the end of March. I hope it's down by then.

I went to college in MN in the early 90s. The Replacements were constantly on our playlist. So much good music.
