I like it if the funds are used for management.

All for it, IF it's used where it's needed.

They have to pay for expenses somehow I suppose. Probably adjusting it by the CPI is a good idea yearly. Having non- hunting or fishing folks pay is a bit of a double edged sword if you ask me. sure more money gets raised, but I'll bet if bird watchers and such start paying they won't be very happy if I shoot said birds on lands they help pay for. Right now fishing and hunting gets top say because we pay the freight. Not such a terrible thing.

As long as they don't raise the rates for the out of state folks.
Dear Wisconsin, Don't try anything funny if you want to keep on getting some of this Minnesota money. I mean I like plundering your resources and all but enough is enough! |

They are requiring background checks now for all out-of-state licensing .... so you likely won't be fishing much in WI waters Eddie. And there is now a 'tiger tax' ... |

I think any increase in the tax will cause some to not pay, and should be taking into consideration when doing the potential revenue analysis. Also the impact of losing business and associated tax revenues from residents and non-residents who would no longer travel within the state to cast and blast. Gas, food, lodging, dry clothes, beer, beer, beer, all that spending can add up.

I'd pay the increase...I heard somewhere where they may start having admission fees for paddling as well. That's a bit of a pain but as long as it's going toward the management I can't complain.
By my understanding new laws have potential to allow people to commit practices that further deteriorate the resources, so maybe this could help to counter that? I don't know the semantics/logistics but that's my dream (the countering part).
