I'm headed down to Port Aransas next week for a few days and will be bringing the 8wt. I've never fished salt water and don't really know what I'm going to get into. Hopefully I can find some speckled sea trout and Redfish. I have a box of streamers that has a good amount of clouser style minnows, and some poppers. Anyone ever fish down there? Anything I should know?

You're likely to get into plenty of fish if the ocean conditions aren't too bad, maybe not necessarily trout or reds. Take some pics.

Where will you be fishing, the bay or surf?

You down for work or visiting Jake? Either way I hope Mason is your pilot so you can bring back some fresh redfish on ice!

Google up a local fly shop, probably way better info than you'll get from any of us other "tourists".
